Gesture
at the Musee d’Orsay, Paris
In the central atrium of the Musee d’Orsay stand 20 white marble sculptures that are beautifully lit by the overhead skylight. Photographing these exquisite sculptures without other visitors in the frame is almost impossible. However, what is the essence of any of these works? It is the gesture of the subject’s hands which conveys the energy, the meaning and emotion of the work.
